Do Now 1: Choose 3-4 prompts below. Fill your first do now box. You will not do a second do now today--please cross off this box.
1. How would you describe elements? What would be most important to tell people? What would be the most difficult part for you to explain?
2. What do properties have to do with atoms? Elements? Give an example to explain your thinking.
3. What do you think is the most important particle in an atom? Explain your thinking.
4. How has direct and indirect evidence been used to make discoveries about atoms? Give an example to explain your thinking.
MINILesson
When you are finished with the do now, watch the following video about atoms, elements and the nucleus. Fill in your mini-lesson notes using the outline below. If you need headphones please ask Ms Silver!

TASKS:
1. Continue working on your element project.
- The sub will have extra handouts if you were absent.
- Research your element.
- Then, there are art supplies in the back of the room for your mixed media art representation of your element.
- Remember, you will be doing a peer critique of your art next week!
2. After lunch, choose ONE of the three articles from the sub. You will create a OnePager with this article by doing 6 bullet points from the onepager handout.
- Next week we will do a gallery walk of your OnePagers so your classmates can compare and contrast your thinking to their own.
