Human An Week 2 Thursday

Questions:

  1. How are tissues organized into organs?
  2. What are some examples of connective tissue?
  3. What makes types of tissues different from each other?

Types of Tissues Art and Science

  1. Using this source or this source, find an image of a tissue that interests or inspires you. 
  2. Print out the image by emailing it to Ms Friedrich.
  3. On the back of the image, research and record the following thoughts and information: 

  • tissue name
  • tissue type
  • characteristics of the tissue (2-3)
  • location of the tissue
  • look at the image and decide what this image reminds you of (this could be a lake, a river, a crowd at a concert, nearly anything). explain your thinking.
  • brainstorm sketch 2 ideas for an impressionistic painting inspired by your tissue image
    • Impressionism is a theory or practice in painting made famous in the late 1800's by artists such as Monet and Van Gogh. Impressionists do not paint objects with lines but rather with dots, dabs and swirls to tell a story.

Last, Create an impressionistic painting inspired by your chosen tissue's image, structure and/or function.
